I was down my local pub, when this old acquaintance came up, cigarette in one so called GT in the other. Lately wearing expensive coats and ties
And he said, nice pub, so real and so traditional, just like in the old days and I wondered which old days he might mean, he seemed so clean
And the he asked what I’m up to, same old, same old and he was so interested in philosophy and music until it became real
And the he laughed, gotta go back to work, 7 o’ clock, someone has to do it, but I respect what you’re doing
But I never believed, why I should do something real?

I never found a proper tone, I never strike a single right note
A major chord, a little smile, a better rhyme, a happy line and don’t cry
